Module Mass Dummy (M-MD) is the dummy of a F/H module with 4,5 meters of diameter and 30T of mass; it is the equipment used to perform the proof and functional test activities on a set of MGSE, as well as periodical tests for the MGSEs re-certification. M-MD replicates the I/F, mass (affected by a proof or functional load factor) and center of gravity of the F/H module in the worst configurations.
M-MD has the following features:
1. modular structure to not exceed standard transport measures
2. It can be used both in horizontal and vertical configurations
3. The mass can be set in functional and proof configurations
4. The M-MD proof configuration mass can be set in many proof load factors (from 1,3 to 2 times the SWL)
5. Its design allows to modify quickly the configuration (from functional to proof and vice versa)
6. Its design in proof configuration allows to set the CoG position along dummy axis in a wide range of positions and with high accuracy through a SW tool
7. Lifting points for horizontal and vertical hoisting
8. It’s supplied with its own support structure (cradles) for integration activities
